Design is something that a great number of young children dreams of doing when they grow up. However, there are some misconceptions about it, especially when it comes to interior design; people tend to think that it all depends on creativity and the flow of imagination when there is far more behind the scenes, and it sometimes looks to be more of a science than art. However, not all people have artistic tendencies, and many would prefer watching or betting on a sports game to get their adrenaline pumping. This, in some countries, can be quite difficult, due to their gambling laws; but, with a little searching, you can, for example, find betting sites in India, which is notorious for its complex gambling laws. On the other hand, if sports betting is not your cup of tea, and you are more of an artistic type of person, you can try your luck at interior design. You will be successful, as long as you bear in mind these basic elements that constitute interior design.

Space

When observing an interior, one of the primary elements that can be noticed is its space, particularly if the space is empty. You need to work with the space a room provides and occupy or free up parts of it to achieve a certain effect you imagined. Space can be positive and negative: positive space is occupied by objects, and negative space is empty. Finding the right balance and relationship is key to giving your interior some character.

Line

Lines make up the contours of a room, and they provide subtle or sharp guidelines for the eye. You can use them to split a space or to accentuate certain objects or features of the room. You can expand or contract a space with them, and they are an indispensable tool for interior design.

Light

This element is crucial, as it allows all other elements to be seen. Without light, all other parts of the room would be useless. This is why the choice of artificial or natural light is very important, as well as the purpose they serve. Ask yourself: do you wish the light to do a particular thing? Is it there to emphasize something? Or is it just there to set the mood? Once you have established that, you can fit other pieces of the puzzle together successfully.

Color

This element of interior design is a field in itself, and it greatly affects both the space and the observer. We know that the color of the walls can alter the mood of the person who is in the room, but color can also modify space: it can open and expand, as well as contract and reduce a room. This is why a good choice and placement of color can make a room unrecognizable.

Pattern

Pattern refers to the texture and design of certain decorations that are put in the room, and that should go well with the overall style of the room. This choice can be quite subjective, but it is good to view the combination of patterns from the perspective of the people who will visit the room.
